Institute for Organization Management (IOM) Scholasrships are funded by the American Hotel & Lodging Educational Foundation

Each year, AH&LEF awards scholarships to state association executives and staff members to attend the Institutes for Organizational Management. This educational program, conducted by the U.S. Chamber of Congress, is a series of one-week seminars on business management, sequenced over four years, and specifically designed for association executives. For 2008 a total of $8,000 was awarded to PSA executives from the Lawson Odde Memorial Scholarship Fund.

Typically CEO scholarship recipients receive a scholarship to cover the tuition ($1,295) plus a stipend to assist with travel, meal, and lodging expenses. Non-CEO staff members are eligible for scholarships, which will reimburse a portion of the tuition. Last year, non-CEO recipients were awarded $700 each. Once a scholarship for a CEO is awarded, the recipient is assured funding to finish the program as long as he or she does not miss two consecutive years. Non-CEO scholarships are renewed on a year to year basis.
